Alabama Council Award for Excellence

(March 8, 2002) -- The Alabama Council of Community Mental Health Boards was named by the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare as the Winner of the 2002 Award of Excellence in Public Policy.

The award was presented to the Executive Director (Dr. Jim Dill) and the then-President of the Council (Dr. Anne Penney) at the Annual Meeting of the National Council in Chicago, Illinois in March.

This award is in recognition of the Alabama Council's 15-year effort to raise the standard for community-based care for Alabama's ill citizens who experience mental illness.
